Sensory Support Practitioner

Pay scale:        Grade 3 Point 5    £18,795 pro rata (£9.74 per hr)

Job Term:         Part-time   Term Time Only (38 weeks)    

                         8.45am to 12.00pm Monday to Friday = 16.25hrs a week

                         Fixed Term Contract initially until 31st August 2020:

Risby CEVCP School is a popular and growing primary school, operating at the heart of the village community.  It is a vibrant and welcoming school with happy, confident children who enjoy learning and achieving.  Every child truly matters at Risby and staff are fully committed to ensuring the best outcomes for the children in their care, both academically and personally. 

We are looking to appoint a Sensory Support Practitioner to work on a 1:1 basis within our school supporting a hearing impaired child in KS1. The role may also include working with small groups of children within KS1 for curriculum intervention work.

 

Ideally you should offer:

  • British Sign Language Level 1, it would be desirable to also have Level 2
  • Experience of working with hearing impaired children
  • Experience of working with children with delayed speech and language
  • Experience of working with children with special educational or additional needs
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • A positive, consistent and patient approach to supporting children with S.E.N.D. in a mainstream setting
  • Experience of working with small groups of children
  • The ability to work well as part of a team

Mid-day Supervisory  Assistant (M.D.S.A.)   x  2 

Pay scale:          Grade 2 Point 1       £9.00 per hr  (£10.50 per session)

Job Term:           Part-time                 Term Time Only (38 weeks)

                           Monday to Friday – 5 lunch times a week – 11.55am until 1.05pm (70 minutes a day)

We are looking to appoint a friendly, kind but firm, person who will work well as part of a small team.  The role will involve:

  • supporting Risby pupils whilst eating their lunch in the dining hall
  • supervising Risby pupils at play outside on the playground/school field or in the classrooms during wet play
  • promoting high standards of behaviour from all pupils

We encourage outdoor play whenever possible so the role will include working outdoors in all weathers
